Josey Jewell, “The Outlaw,” will be heading to Denver to play for the Broncos in the NFL after being selected in the 4th round.
The man himself, Josey Jewell (aka ‘The Outlaw”), will now be playing for the Denver Broncos in the NFL after being selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He will remain at the linebacker position for the Broncos as he makes his first NFL appearance.
According to Spotrac.com, Josey Jewell will have a 4-year rookie contract worth $3.129 million. He will also be eligible to get a $712,000 bonus throughout that 4-year rookie contract. Numbers aside, the Broncos got an absolute steal at the linebacker position in Josey Jewell. He had a total of 433 tackles throughout his 4-year career as an Iowa Hawkeye, which should be eye-opening to any NFL team. However, some analysts have said that his speed is an issue, as his 40-time wasn’t necessarily the greatest. However, with the stats and highlights he has, I wouldn’t be too worried about a combine stat.
Hopefully his ‘Outlaw’ nickname sticks with him throughout his NFL career, because that is just simply the perfect nickname for him. The nickname is said to be from the fictional character of Outlaw Josey Wales. Lots of NFL players have their own nicknames, but honestly, none of them are as amazing as ‘The Outlaw.’
Josey Jewell has had a magnificent career as a Hawkeye, and the entire state, and fan base, will definitely be missing this unbelievable player. Let’s finish this up with a video over his career highlights at the University of Iowa.
