One of the most requested things Iowa fans have always wanted is the water tower by Kinnick Stadium to be painted. This dream is now becoming a reality.

During the Iowa spring football game on April 20th, Kinnick Stadium showed a preview video of how the water tower was going to look for the start of the 2018 Iowa Football season. This video got the entire crowd hyped, as well as the entire state of Iowa.

Yeah, this is going to be pretty awesome. Something so simple, yet so amazing, can go a very long way. This water tower has always been overlooking Kinnick Stadium and is a giant eye sore. Fans, including myself, especially, have been dreaming of the water tower being painted with something related to the Hawkeyes, considering you can see it from the corner of your eye very easily. This dream of mine, and many, many other Iowa fans, is now becoming true and we all cannot believe our eyes.

First it came the alternate uniforms during the 2015 season, where Iowa had their “black-out” game against Minnesota in Kinnick. That got a ton of Hawkeye fans hyped up. Next, heading into the 2017 season, the turf got redesigned, which included a giant tiger hawk in the middle of the field. That tiger hawk was probably the biggest things Iowa fans wanted most, since it seems like every college stadium has a logo at midfield, except for Kinnick Stadium. Now that this water tower is going to be painted with a tiger hawk, fans have lost their minds, and yes, myself included.

You’d think after the spring game, there’d be a ton of hype about the team. There is, however, but this water tower made us all lose our minds, and it is the most Iowa thing ever. The spring game taught us quite a bit about our new roster, but this water tower is now plastered in the minds of Hawkeye fans all across the country, and will be until the season kicks off.
