Iowa Basketball: Hawkeyes Climbing The Rankings In Big Ten
By Kenny Levine
11. Minnesota (14-11, 3-9)
Last Week: 10
Minnesota continues to struggle without Reggie Lynch. The Gophers are now 1-8 without the reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as a result of two more losses last week. Minnesota struggled in a 94-80 road loss at Iowa Tuesday night. It followed that up with a gritty performance on the road at Michigan, but ulitmately Minnesota ran out of gas and lost 76-73 in overtime to the Wolverines.
Minnesota has two more games this week in what has now become a lost season. The Gophers will play at home Tuesday against Nebraska, followed by a trip to Bloomington Friday night to take on Indiana. Amir Coffey has missed the last two games after struggling with the same shoulder injury that kept him out of action earlier in conference play. Minnesota still has a lot of talent even without Reggie Lynch, but it just hasn’t all clicked this season.
