Iowa Basketball: Hawkeyes Climbing The Rankings In Big Ten
By Kenny Levine
13. Wisconsin (10-15, 3-9)
Last Week: 11
It was a really tough week for Wisconsin. The Badgers had three games and lost them all. Wisconsin had second half leads on Monday against Nebraska and Sunday at Maryland, but could not hang on to those wins. On Thursday, Wisconsin fell behind Northwestern 18-1 and could never recover. Despite allowing just 42 points in the final 34 minutes of that game, Wisconsin still fell 60-52 to the Wildcats. The Badgers are now 3-9 in Big Ten play and have lost 8 of 9 games.
After having three games last week, Wisconsin does not play again until Thursday. Wisconsin will stay on the road and will play at Illinois. The Badgers beat Illinois back on January 19. They will follow that with a home contest against Michigan. The Badgers play good defense but the offense simply is not good enough to win a lot of these games. A staple of Wisconsin basketball is good shooting and they simply do not have that this season.
