Iowa stays put at 13 in this week’s power rankings.  Iowa looked really good in a dominating 85-67 win at home against Wisconsin on Tuesday.  For the first time all season, the defense looked in sync and the offense was good.  However, Saturday was more of the same from the Hawkeyes.  Iowa gave up 98 points to a Nebraska offense that was averaging 66 points per game in conference games.  The defense has been what has held Iowa back this season and that was the case again on Saturday.

This week Iowa will have two games.  The week starts with a game at home against Minnesota on Tuesday.  Given the offensive struggles for the Golden Gophers this season, I would pick Iowa to win that game.  That is followed by a contest on the road at Penn State.  Given Penn State’s up and down play all season, Iowa has two games in which it has a good chance of pulling out a win.
