Illinois finally was able to get a win.  The Illini had been so close in many of its conference games but could not put the finishing touches on a victory.  The Illini stuck around but were never really in the game on Monday in a loss to Michigan State.  However, on Wednesday the Illini finally got into the win column.  Despite a significant second half scoring drought, and missed free-throws at the end of the game, Illinois was able to defeat Indiana 73-71 on Tuesday.

Even though the team was 0-8, it was apparent that the team was at least competitive in most of the games.  However, one win still does not knock them out of the 14th spot in the rankings.  Illinois has another winnable game this week.  Tuesday night, Illinois will host Rutgers in Champaign followed by a trip to Columbus to take on Ohio State.
