Iowa Basketball: Big Ten Power Rankings, Hawkeyes Move Up From The Bottom
By Kenny Levine
4. Michigan State (16-3, 4-2)
Last Week: 1
Last week I wrote about how one loss did not matter because Michigan State was still the most talented team in the Big Ten. Well fast forward one week and my opinion has completely changed. Michigan State needed overtime to knock off Rutgers at home on Wednesday. It followed that up with a home loss against Michigan. As a result, Michigan State drops three spots down to the number four spot in this week’s power rankings.
Michigan State has just one game this week. MSU will play the suddenly surging Indiana team on Thursday in its third straight home game. Michigan State seemingly does this once every year. It will have a four or five game stretch where they struggle but before too long, they get back to playing MSU basketball. I would guess this is the rough stretch for Michigan State.
