Penn State has immense talent.  All five starters returned for the Nittany Lions and it looks like this could be the best team Pat Chambers has had in his 8 years at Penn State.  Yet, every time it looks as though Penn State might take a step forward, it has an inexplicable loss like a home loss to Rider.

Like many Big Ten teams, Penn State split its two contests this week.  The Lions fought hard in a 75-69 loss at Maryland last Tuesday but responded with a dominating performance in a victory at home against Northwestern.  Consistency is key if Penn State wants to take the next step.  It gets a chance this week with a game at Indiana on Tuesday followed by a home contest against Nebraska on Friday.
