Iowa Basketball: Weekly Big Ten Power Rankings
By Kenny Levine
5. Maryland (14-4, 3-2)
Much like Indiana, I am not sure what to make of Maryland quite yet. They look like a team that is in the upper echelon of a very average Big Ten, but it is still unclear just how good this team is. The best win the Terps have is a home victory over Butler. However, pretty much each time it has faced tough competition, Maryland has come up short. Injuries have also hit Maryland hard as star froward Justin Jackson and reserve forward Ivan Bender were both lost for the season.
This past week Maryland had three games. It won home matchups with Penn State and Iowa but got blasted by Michigan State at the Breslin Center. Maryland will have a chance to get a solid win on Thursday when it travels to Columbus to take on Ohio State, the surprise team of the Big Ten.
