The 2017 College Football Regular season has come to an end, and it’s time to see how the Hawks did over the course of their 12 game schedule. Let’s look at the first four games of the Hawks 2017 season in this first of four parts reviewing the Hawkeyes’ season.

The 2017 Iowa Hawkeyes team, in a word, underachieved. They either played well or won the games they weren’t supposed to win or stepped down to their competition and played poorly. The Hawkeyes ended the year with a record of 7-5 including being 4-5 in the Big Ten and were somewhat of a disappointment.

In this first part of a four-part series, we will look at Iowa’s first four games. In their first four games, they posted a 3-1 record and almost upset one of the best teams in the country. How did their fare in each game, what was the deciding factor and who was the game’s offensive and defensive star?
