23) Virginia Tech Hokies
Key Player: WR Cam Phillips
We don’t even know for sure how successful the offense will be with a brand new starter under center. Losing Jerod Evans was so tough, so it will take some individual work from a skill player. Phillips put together a solid season last year with nearly 1,000 yards. Bucky Hodges and Isaiah Ford are both gone as well, so a ton of the responsibility will be placed on Phillips.
Key Stat: Justin Fuente has won at both Memphis and thus far Virginia Tech. Nine or more wins in three of his four seasons as a head coach is a great start to a likely successful coaching career.
Key Game: 11/4 at Miami FL
If there is any chance the Hokies win the division, they must defeat the Canes to have a chance. Virginia Tech will put up a fight in the Coastal division, but they must pick up a huge road game and this is the one to have circled.
