Key Player: QB Brett Rypien
Playing a ton at a young age has given the team some growing pains along the way. The talent is certainly there and this would be a great time to explode onto the national scene. The offense should get back to near bonkers mode when they had Kellen Moore. And they’ll need to without a stellar defense they once had with Moore under center.
Key Stat: The ‘Smurfs’ are coming off their 12th season of 10 or more wins since 2002. They have no problem scheduling power five foes and they are looking at getting back into the national picture this season with another double digit win season.
Key Game: 10/14 at San Diego State
There is a chance we see these two play each other twice, but the Broncos could really use a victory here. The Aztecs have owned this conference as of late due to dominating their own division. Boise State needs an impressive road victory to regain the focus and confidence that they have seemed to lack against the better competition.
