September 30th 2017 @ Michigan State

Record In 2016: 3-9 (No Bowl Appearance)

Record Vs Michigan State (All Time): 23-21-2

The last time the Hawkeyes and Spartans ‘locked horns’ was in Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship. It was one of the more thrilling championships since the Big Ten started playing a title game.

It seems that the Michigan State and Iowa games usually have a dramatic conclusion, and including ‘smash mouth, Big Ten Football’.

The Spartans came off the Big Ten title with a dreadful 2016 season. This off-season has included more off the field issues. The gap that the Spartans had seemingly closed between themselves and the ‘blue bloods’ of the Big Ten East has opened again.
