September 23rd 2017 @ Kinnick Stadium

Record In 2016: 5-8 (Lost In Heart Of Dallas Bowl)

Record Vs North Texas (All Time): 1-0

The program once led by Hawkeye legend Hayden Fry returns to Iowa City after the 2015 blowout that ended at 62-16. Jordan Canzeri finished that game with four touchdowns, and now senior linebacker Bo Bower capped the victory with a 88 yard touchdown on an interception.

This Mean Green team will be better than its 2015 incarnation however, coming off a bowl appearance, and second year head coach Seth Littrell. The most dangerous player they feature is senior running back Jeffrey Wilson.

While North Texas got considerably better from the one-win team the Hawkeyes saw in 2015, this is most likely still a growing program in the middle of Conference USA.

The ‘Goldout’ in Iowa City for this game should be a blowout, and Akrum Wadley could be looking at a day near the success Canzeri ended up having two years ago.
