After Stanley and Wiegers, there are other options that could make waves for playing time. Freshmen Peyton Mansell comes onto campus looking to compete for the job. It would be an uphill battle to win the job this year, but it is perfect timing for Mansell with an ‘open job’ at the position available.

Sophomore Ryan Schmidt of Marion, IA and Ryan Boyle of West Des Moines, who is returning to quarterback after moving to wide receiver last season will also be trying to make moves on the depth chart. Also, sophomore Drew Cook was moved to tight end in the spring, and will no longer be in the quarterbacks room.
