In the Kirk Ferentz era, and in many programs, a true freshmen usually doesn’t come onto the college campus, and make waves right away. Nathan Stanley at 6’5 212 pounds came in, and got in-game experience from game 1 last Fall.

The mobile, strong-armed sophomore is clearly the favorite from an outside perception before the Summer practices kickoff. The nation will watch whoever wins the job take on one of the nation’s best quarterbacks in Wyoming’s Josh Allen in the season opener.

Stanley could go right into the starting role, and be the first three year starter at quarterback since Ricky Stanzi, who beat out Jake Christensen in 2008, and never relinquished the position.
