What happens with that last scholarship now that Nicholas Baer has taken one of the open spots?

Kenny: As we’ve mentioned multiple times already, Iowa has a need for experience, specifically at the point guard position.  Perhaps Iowa goes the graduate transfer route, it is not something that Fran McCaffery has done before, but I think this season would be as good as any to potentially do that.  I think we will figure that out sooner, rather than later.

Derek: At this point, unless Iowa gets some surprise walk-on phenom, I think the Hawkeyes are best off stowing it for future recruiting. Most uncommitted players at this point probably aren’t deserving of a Big 10 scholarship, and having it left to give could open up the door for Iowa to nab one more player who actually is worthy of the free ride next year.

Dylan: Iowa has a need at point guard.  They have two very young players that will be battling for that spot, so if another point guard, like Christian Vital, decides to come and sport the black and gold that would be great.  Then there is the graduate transfer route.  Spike Albrecht is out there, but I haven’t heard much about where he is thinking about heading.  If you can’t bring in a point guard, tuck that puppy away and save it for next years class.
