No. 1 – Jarrod Uthoff

Obviously, number one is Jarrod Uthoff.  He’s been Iowa’s most consistent scorer throughout the season and this is his team.

He averaged 18.9 points per game to go along with 6.4 rebounds.  He has scored in double figures in every single game except for one, which was in the road game at Maryland.  He had 29 points in the regular season finale against the Michigan Wolverines and posted 21 points in Iowa’s first game of the Big Ten Tournament.  He and Jok scored 50 combined points, but it was not enough to defeat the Illini.

He was voted first team All-Big Ten by the Big Ten coaches and the media and will be the second half of what Fran Dunphy hopes to slow down on Friday in Brooklyn.

I know it seems kind of obvious that Uthoff is number one on this list, but he’s able to put up numbers that are so big that he can’t not be number one on the list.

If he gets it going downtown, it will spell trouble for Dunphy and the Owls.  It’ll give Jok more room to operate and opens up driving lanes for him, which will most likely lead to him getting to the foul line, where he shoots 82 percent.

Uthoff and the Hawkeyes will take on the Owls on Friday at 2:10 p.m. CT in Brooklyn in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  If Iowa takes down the Owls, they’ll likely see Villanova in the second round.
