Any good team has role players that are pivotal to their success.  Temple is no different.

For the Owls, it’s Jaylen Bond, Obi Enechioniya, Josh Brown and that’s about it considering they’ll only play about six or seven players.

Bond is a transfer from Texas who posts 10.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.  He gives the Owls a lot of energy on the glass and they’ll need it against a long and athletic Iowa team.  If push comes to shove for Iowa and they are forced to foul, Bond is a prime candidate to send to the line.

He currently shoots 39 percent from the free throw stripe.

Enechioniya, say that five times fast, is Temple’s second scoring option.  The 6’8″ sophomore averages 11.2 points per game, but doesn’t exactly get after it on the glass being as big as he is.  He only averages 3.7 rebounds per game, but has had games where he has posted big numbers.

He’ll be a dark horse for the Owls because he does have the tendency to score in bunches when he does get it going.  He has games of 26 and 25 points this season and has posted double figures in eight of the last nine contests.

Finally, the point guard, Josh Brown. Brown averages 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game for the Owls.  While DeCosey makes this team go, they wouldn’t be where they’re at without Brown.  As you can see by his stat line, he does everything for Dunphy and the Owls.

At 6’3″ he has good size and will be bigger than both guards that will be guarding him on Friday.  It’ll be interesting to see how Temple uses the height advantage.
