9. Northwestern (20-11, 8-10)
Last Week: 11

It was a great week for the Wildcats as they used the momentum gained from a 40 point blowout win over Rutgers last weekend and played some very good basketball this week.  Northwestern led wire-to-wire against both Penn State and Nebraska and won both games by double-digits.

That is good enough to move Northwestern up two spots this week.  Tre Demps was excellent for the Wildcats this week, scoring a combined 40 points in the two victories.  Alex Olah is starting to play like he did at the beginning of the season, which is a good sign as the Wildcats look to receive an NIT bid.

Northwestern will take on Michigan in the 8-9 game on Thursday in the Big Ten tournament.  This is my upset pick of the early rounds in the Big Ten tournament, as these teams are going in opposite directions right now.  The winner of that game will face top seeded Indiana in Indianapolis, good luck.
