1. Michigan State (26-5, 13-5)
Last Week: 1

Just like the last two weeks, the Michigan State Spartans grab the top spot on the power rankings.  A lot has been talked about the recent hot streaks of Wisconsin and Indiana, but the team that is playing even better is Michigan State.  Before Wisconsin lost to Purdue Sunday night, Michigan State was the last team to beat both Indiana and Wisconsin.

Michigan State took care of business this week once again, taking what was a close first game and turning it into a 30 point victory over Rutgers, thanks to Bryn Forbes’ Big Ten single-game record of 11 three-pointers.  That was followed up by a performance in which Michigan State shot 67% in a win over Ohio State.

The Spartans will get the second seed in the Big Ten tournament, and will play either Ohio State or Penn State in its first game.  Penn State has beaten those teams handily in three of its final four games.

Ever since losing to Nebraska at home, the Spartans have rattled off 10 wins in 11 tries and look to be the favorites in the Big Ten tournament, and one of the favorites to win the national championship.
