3. Purdue (24-7, 12-6)
Last Week: 4

A couple weeks ago, Purdue was a team that had beaten most of the bad teams in the Big Ten, but did not really have a signature win.  Fast forward two weeks, and Purdue has come through with two big wins.  After beating Maryland last Saturday, the Boilermakers got another critical in defeating the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday night.

Purdue has shown how dangerous of a team it can be when it is getting contributions from the outside.  Dakota Mathias was unstoppable against Maryland, and sophomore guard P.J. Thompson scored 22 points and hit six threes in the Boilermakers victory over Wisconsin.

The win was good enough to move the Boilermakers up one spot to third, ahead of the aforementioned Wisconsin Badgers, and it also gave the Boilermakers a double bye in the Big Ten tournament.  As mentioned previously, the Boilermakers will have either the Iowa Hawkeyes, or the winner of the Illinois vs Minnesota game.

The Boilermakers have lost twice to Iowa and lost to Illinois early in Big Ten play.
