5. Iowa (21-9, 12-6)
Last Week: 6

Iowa stopped the bleeding on Saturday with a hard-fought 71-61 road victory over the Michigan Wolverines.  While, they also lost to Indiana last Tuesday, it seemed like that game gave the Hawkeyes their confidence back.

Iowa rallied from a 14 point deficit to take the lead, only to have it slip away late in a loss against Indiana.  The best news for Hawkeye fans is that Iowa came through in the clutch, with seniors Mike Gesell, Anthony Clemmons, and Jarrod Uthoff all making big plays late against the Wolverines.

Iowa’s solid week is enough to move them up one spot this week.  Iowa will be the number five seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament and will face the winner of the Illinois vs Minnesota game in the first round.  If the Hawkeyes win that game, they would take on 4th seeded Purdue in the quarterfinals.
