12. Illinois (13-16, 5-11)

Last Week: 12

For one half, it looked like Illinois was going to hang with the Indiana Hoosiers.  And then the Illini were outscored 47-19 by the Hoosiers in the second half, turning what was a 1 point lead into a lopsided defeat.  Then Illinois struggled with Minnesota at home, and the Gophers were without its best player Nate Mason, starting guard Dupree McBrayer, and another key bench player.

Things are bad for the Illini this season, and it still baffles me how this team was able to beat Purdue earlier this season.  They have beaten Rutgers and Minnesota twice each, but they do remain at number 12 this week.
