5. Maryland (23-6, 11-5)

Last Week: 5

Where has Melo Trimble gone?  That is the question being asked in College Park, and these last three weeks or so have shown just how important the All-American point guard is to the Terps’ success.  Trimble once again struggled in the Terrapins’ only game last week, a loss at Purdue inside Mackey Arena.  Maryland, like Iowa, is going through a bit of a rough patch right now, and the team that many believed would win the Big Ten going into the season finds itself amongst the cluster of teams 2nd through 8th in the Big Ten standings right now.

The good news is that Maryland should find its way back into the win column Thursday vs Illinois and then it ends the season with a huge game in Assembly Hall.  Maryland will be big Iowa fans on Tuesday, as they need Indiana to lose in order to have a shot at a share of the Big Ten title.
