Iowa Basketball: Big Ten Power Rankings
By Kenny Levine
12. Illinois (12-15, 4-10)
Yes, I understand that Illinois has had significant injury problems this season. But the fact of the matter is that they still should be much better than this. Kendrick Nunn and Malcolm Hill are two of the most talented players in the Big Ten, and still Illinois is not good. Three of the Illini’s four conference victories have come against Rutgers and Minnesota.
The Illini were leading 46-33 with about 10 minutes left Sunday at Wisconsin, and then Wisconsin proceeded to go on a 28-4 run, eventually winning the game 69-60. John Groce has about 5 more games left as the coach of Illinois. He knows it, and so do his players. Very disappointing season from the Illini.
