5. Maryland (22-5, 11-4)

There is a difference between a team with talent, and a team that is good.  We keep hearing about how talented this Maryland Terrapins are, and don’t get me wrong they are certainly talented, and yet the performances continue to underwhelm.  A home loss vs Wisconsin was followed up by a shocking loss at the Barn in Minneapolis, and then they struggled to beat Michigan Sunday afternoon.

It hasn’t helped that Jake Layman and Melo Trimble have seemingly forgotten how to make jump shots of late, but the team was still struggling when that was not the case.  Talent only takes you so far, and Maryland has yet to show me that they can make a serious run in the NCAA tournament.
