Kirk Ferentz has had some good ones since he’s been at the University of Iowa and there were some good one’s before Kirk as well.  Hayden Fry defeinitely coached his fair share of good Hawkeye quarterbacks.

After that there isn’t much, especially when you consider Iowa has had only two football coaches since 1979.  That’s something not a lot of college football programs can say.  But, when you’ve had success, there isn’t any reason to change things up.  Even though a lot of you clamored for Kirk Ferentz’s head after Iowa got demolished in the Tax Slayer Bowl just over a year ago.

I’ll admit, I was one that wanted to see change, but I think we saw Kirk coach a little differently in 2015.  He was faking field goals and going for it on fourth down, which was very abnormal given his conservative coaching style.  He even earned the nickname “New Kirk”.  Anyway, enough about Kirk, let’s dive into the top 10 quarterbacks in Iowa Football history.
