No. 2 – NATHAN STANLEY

Stanley was the very first recruit to commit to the Hawkeyes in the class of 2016.  That was back in November of 2014.  You had to figure that the home-state Wisconsin Badgers would come knocking, and they did, but Stanley stayed strong on Iowa and committed today with the rest of the class.

Hawkeye fans are very excited about the 6’4″ 195 pound Stanley.  He’s a three star Rivals prospect out of Menomonie, WI.  He’s big and is able to see over the line to spot open receivers.  From what I’ve been hearing he is a huge steal, and I agree.  He may even be able to come on and start four years after C.J. Beathard departs after this upcoming season.  He has a big arm and has Iowa fans very excited for the future.

I was unable to dig any video up on Stanley, but Iowa was able to land him over the in-state Badgers and Michigan State, who was showing a little interest in the quarterback.  When asked about Stanley, Kirk Ferentz, said this:

Obviously the Hawkeyes are high on him, and after a redshirt year, he should only get better.  Look for Stanley to battle Tyler Weigers in a year.
