ICYMI: Iowa Brings In Four Star QB Jack Beneventi

With today being the day that Junior College players can sign their letters of intent, I thought I’d bring you up to speed on Iowa’s latest signing.  Back on December 5th, Benet Academy quarterback, Jack Beneventi, made his decision via Twitter that he would attend the University of Iowa to play quarterback.

That sent Hawkeye fans into a frenzy over this 6’6″ 200 pound “golden armed” kid.

Beneventi will be just a senior this upcoming year, so the Hawkeyes will have to wait for this four star recruit to get to campus.  The timing couldn’t be more perfect for Iowa.  The year Beneventi is a freshman, current starter Jake Rudock, will be a senior.  That gives him a year to learn from Rudock before he’s thrust into the starting role.

In his sophomore season at Benet Academy, Beneventi completed 63% of his passes, threw for 2,322 yards and 20 touchdowns.  Word is he possesses a very strong and accurate arm and his size helps him see over the offensive line and down the field.

"“It was where I felt the most comfortable and felt like it would be a great decision to make for me and my family.” – Jack Beneventi, rivals.com"

Beneventi still has his senior season left at Benet Academy and barring any setbacks, I expect him to make a quick impact on this Iowa team.

The future looks bright in Iowa City.
