After adding two recruits for the 2019 class over the weekend, the Hawkeyes needed to continue to grow the class that are going into their final year of high school. And, the wait was not long before that list grew with the commitment of Wisconsin’s Jack Plumb.

Plumb is expected to play on the offensive line with coach Tim Polasek and offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz. He became the second known ‘cheese state’ commitment for the 2018 recruiting cycle in a little over a week with Cody Ince.

Gaining both Ince and Plumb is a major coup for the Hawkeyes as 24/7 Sports have them as the 2nd & 4th best players in the state for the upcoming season. Iowa is known for producing NFL Caliber talent consistently on the offensive line, and are the current winners of the Joe Moore Award for best offensive line unit.

Joining Plumb and Ince in the class from Wisconsin is another native of Green Bay in running back Henry Geil who was the third member of the class to commit of the current group. The Hawkeyes signed three players from Wisconsin last season in: defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon, punter Ryan Gersonde and wide receiver Max Cooper.

In 2016, the Hawkeyes got linebacker Kristian Welch, running back Toren Young and potential starting quarterback Nathan Stanley. The Hawkeyes didn’t have any signing day success in Wisconsin in 2015 with no commitments.

The emphasis in the border rival is key as Wisconsin is rich with talent as evident by the Badgers multiple recent appearances in the Big Ten Championship, and in Pasadena.

It would not be shocking to see this success continue, and the #Swarm18 class to get a few more potentially from Wisconsin as the class is probably near half full heading into July.
