Iowa Hawkeyes Morning Rundown: 4/24

Quick Hitters:

1. Willie Atwood changes decision to today:  After saying that Atwood would announce which school he’d be attending yesterday, the talented forward changed his mind and decided that today would be a better day to do so.  However, yesterday was not a total waste.  Atwood did narrow his search to the Hawkeyes and Arizona State.  As I said yesterday, this is a huge get if the Hawkeyes can land the athletic forward.

2. Iowa baseball cancelled due to rain:  The Iowa baseball team got rained out last night when they were traveling Omaha to take on the Creighton Blue Jays.  No make up date has been announced and Iowa’s series with South Dakota State this weekend is still on schedule as it looks like it should be a gorgeous weekend for baseball.

3. Coordinators excited about spring time football:  The offensive and defensive coordinators, Greg Davis and Phil Parker, both said in interviews yesterday that they are excited with what they are seeing from their respective sides of the ball.  Parker addressed the leadership reigns on the defensive side of the ball and how Quinton Alston has stepped in and taken over that role since James Morris‘ departure.
