I think Fran McCaffery’s face describes how a lot of Hawkeye fans are feeling at this point in time now that they’ve found out JUCO standout, Willie Atwood is headed to Arizona State after picking the Sun Devils over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday afternoon.
This came after Willie moved his decision from yesterday to today at 2:30 p.m. CT. Then he decided to bump it back 3 p.m. CT. The news broke on Twitter about 2:46 p.m. CT so apparently this kid just does whatever he wants.

Its without a doubt a tough pill to swallow for Hawkeye fans everywhere, but hey, what are you going to do?
Now begs the question, who plays the four? Atwood would have been a perfect fit in that spot, but he’s elsewhere. I’d think Aaron White takes over at the four spot for Fran and co. If not, you’re looking at probably Gabe Olaseni and Adamn Woodbury both starting, but I don’t think that happens.
Here are my thoughts:
Mike Gesell and Trey Dickerson split point duties, Josh Oglesby at the 2 spot, Jarrod Uthoff at the 3, White at the 4, and Adam Woodbury at the 5 with Olaseni and Peter Jok coming off the bench. Anthony Clemmons may have a hard time seeing the floor, but remember, Dickerson is yet to play in the Big Ten while Clemmons has two years under his belt, who knows what can happen.
This came as a big surprise for everyone including current Hawkeye commit and a good friend of Atwood’s, Trey Dickerson.

That pretty much says it all for me.
