ICYMI: Iowa Hawkeyes’ Defensive Depth Chart Set

Yesterday I brought you the offensive depth chart for the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Today, I will bring you the defensive depth chart.  Obviously this unit will be missing it’s three best players from a year ago, but the Hawkeyes are known for developing their talent and there should be three new guys ready to fill the void at the linebacker positions.

Lets take a look at the defensive starters going into the spring.

LE: Drew Ott, Nate Meier

LT: Carl Davis, Darian Cooper

RT: Louis Trinca-Pasat, Jaleel Johnson

RE: Mike Hardy, Riley McMinn

OLB: Travis Perry, Cole Fisher

MLB: Quinton Alston, John Kenny, OR Chad Gilson

WLB: Reggie Spearman, Cole Fisher, OR Josey Jewell

LC: Maurice Fleming, OR Sean Draper, Greg Mabin

RC: Desmond King, Malik Rucker

FS: Jordan Lomax, Anthony Gair

SS: John Lowdermilk, Nico Law

Special Teams

PK: Marshall Koehn, Alden Haffer

PT: Connor Kornbrath, Dillon Kidd

Keyvonte Martin-Manley will keep his duties as punt returner and Jordan Canzeri will be the kick returner.  Tyler Cluver replaces Casey Kreiter as the long snapper and Kornbrath will be the holder.  Obviously the biggest change is at the linebacker spot, but the Hawkeyes have everyone back on their defensive line and half of their defensive backfield that will be highlighted by sophomore, Desmond King.  Everything is subject to change before the year starts, but right now it looks a lot like I thought it would.

Stay tuned.
