Josh Oglesby Injures Foot, Out Indefinitely

The Iowa Men’s Basketball team will start the season tomorrow without shooting guard Josh Oglesby. Oglesby injured his foot in practice on Wednesday and is now out indefinitely.

With Oglesby out, Iowa will be missing a verteran leader who has been in Coach Fran McCaffery’s system for the last couple of years. Oglesby hasn’t been a major contributor, but has the ability to fill it up from behind the arc if he gets hot.

A career 31% shooter from behind the arc isn’t what Oglesby would like to have on his resume, but when he comes back he’ll look to make that number rise.

This loss doesn’t hurt the Hawkeyes too much as they have the ability to go deep into their bench. This just means shooters like Peter Jok and Jarrod Uthoff will have to step up and play good minutes for Fran.

The Hawkeyes open their season tomorrow night against UNC-Wilmington at home. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. CT.
